State University of Trade and Economics / Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics is one of the most prestigious educational institutions of Ukraine, which has the highest IV-th level of accreditation.
History
The history of State University of Trade and Economics / Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics starts from Kyiv branch of the all – Union Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade founded in 1946.
According to the resolution on the Council of Ministers of UkrSSR № 50 of January 14, 1959, Kyiv branch was put under the command of Kharkiv Institute of Soviet Trade, and later that year of Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade.
By the resolution of the Council of ministers of Ukr.SSR № 195 of March 4, 1966 Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics was founded.
By the Decree № 592 of August 29, 1994 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the educational establishment was converted into Kyiv State University of Trade and Economics.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 1059/2000 of September 11, 2000 the University was granted the status of the National University.
In 2006 the University signed the world known Magna Charta Universitatum. The University became the first higher educational institution in Ukraine to be certified for meeting the requirements of the standard ISO 9001:2015.
University Today
State University of Trade and Economics comprises six faculties, 32 departments, and two institutes based at the main campus in Kyiv. It also has 17 regional subdivisions, including six educational institutes, nine colleges, and two highly specialized commercial schools located in cities such as Vinnytsa, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Kolomiya, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Uzhgorod, and Odessa.
State University of Trade and Economics serves over 17,000 students, with more than 40,000 students including those in regional subdivisions. Its international cooperation spans over 100 agreements with higher education institutions, international organizations, and institutions across more than 30 countries worldwide. The university’s academic process is supported by a strong team of over 1,200 highly qualified lecturers and researchers, with more than 70% holding Doctor Habilitatus or PhD degrees.
State University of Trade and Economics provides teaching English/French/German – as a first foreign language, and Polish/Spanish/ Modern Greek/Latin-as a second foreign language. Free of charge program of studying Japanese has been functioning for more than 10 years in State University of Trade and Economics. Students of State University of Trade and Economics, first of all the Faculty of Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism Business, annually undergo the practical training in the best hotels, tourist-recreational complexes and other enterprises of France, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Greece, Turkey etc.
State University of Trade and Economics has cooperation agreements with ministries, departments, organizations, and enterprises, including the Accounting Chamber, National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, State Treasury Service of Ukraine, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, State Financial Inspection of Ukraine, Pension Fund of Ukraine, National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service, Notarial Chamber of Ukraine, DTEK Academy, Higher Linguistic School, Main Territorial Justice Department in Kyiv, commercial banks, trade and industrial chambers, trade networks, insurance companies, advertising agencies, and other institutions.
To ensure high-quality student training State University of Trade and Economics operates a European Education Center, Preparatory Department for Foreigners and Stateless Persons, Career Development Center, Research Financial Institute, Technology Transfer Center, Business Incubator, Quality Management Center, Training and Methodological Publications Center, Legal Protection Center, Scientific and Technical Certification Center for Products, Services and Quality Systems, Higher School of Pedagogical Mastery, Distance Learning Laboratory, Business Training Center.
The Kyiv campus occupies a single complex on a 17-hectare site, featuring eight academic buildings, a library, six dormitories, two sports facilities, a modern football stadium with artificial turf, two canteens, seven cafeterias, and two concert halls. The academic activities take place in these eight buildings, which include 28 specialized laboratories, 52 computer labs, 125 lecture halls, and 2,080 computers.

Accommodation
The Student Campus of the State University of Trade and Economics is a well-organized complex of dormitories complemented by sports facilities, utility and production rooms, and workshops necessary for the maintenance and repair of buildings, premises, engineering systems, and communications. The campus includes six student dormitories located on its territory.
The dormitories follow a corridor-type layout. Each floor block features a shared kitchen equipped with electric stoves and microwave ovens, as well as sanitary facilities with showers. For academic purposes, students have access to a reading room specifically arranged for self-study and quiet preparation.
Student rooms are fully furnished and supplied with all the necessary amenities for comfortable living and effective study. Each room is equipped with beds, desks, chairs, wardrobes, and other essential items to ensure a productive and home-like environment.
In addition to living accommodations, the student campus provides areas for recreation and physical activity, creating a supportive atmosphere for both academic achievement and student well-being. The university continuously maintains and improves residential facilities to meet modern standards of comfort and safety.
