The State Biotechnological University (SBTU) stands as a prestigious state higher educational institution situated in Kharkiv under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It emerged from the amalgamation of four esteemed higher educational institutions in Kharkiv: Kharkiv National Technical University of Agriculture named after Petro Vasylenko, Kharkiv National Agrarian University named after V.V. Dokuchaev, Kharkiv State Zoo-Veterinary Academy, and Kharkiv State University of Food and Trade.
The establishment of the State Biotechnological University was formalized by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through Order No. 431-r on May 12, 2021. The significant reorganization underscores the commitment to advancing biotechnological education and research in Ukraine, consolidating expertise and resources from diverse academic domains. International Activity
The State Biotechnological University actively cultivates international connections, primarily aimed at aligning higher education with the European educational framework to enrich students’ theoretical knowledge with practical business experience across diverse fields. Collaborating with leading agricultural institutions worldwide, the university has established partnerships with institutions of higher learning in 9 countries across Europe, Asia, the United States, and China. It holds the distinction of being a signatory of the Great Charter of the world’s universities, joining a prestigious community of 700 top-tier universities globally. For 25 years, the university has played an active role in esteemed organizations such as the European Association of Agricultural Universities, the Eurasian Association of Universities, and the International Alliance of Agricultural Education Institutions. It actively participates in the European and global networks facilitated by UNESCO.
The main thrusts of the State Biotechnological University’s international engagements encompass strategic planning, coordination, and documentation of various international activities. Accommodation
Student accommodation at the State Biotechnological University is designed to provide comfortable living conditions for its international students. The university offers dormitories equipped with modern facilities to ensure a conducive environment for studying and living. The dormitories feature a corridor block system, offering rooms for two or three occupants. Each block is equipped with shower and toilet facilities for the convenience of students. Each room is furnished with essential amenities such as beds, bedside tables, tables, chairs, and wardrobes.
The State Biotechnological University’s dormitories provide communal spaces for students and areas for relaxation and study. There are dedicated rooms for students to prepare for classes, store their belongings, and even an isolation ward for medical purposes. The dormitories are equipped with practical amenities to meet the daily needs of students. It includes kitchens on each floor for self-catering, a central shower with hot water, and additional facilities such as grocery stores, pharmacies, and bus stops nearby.
