The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” is a public technical university in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Founded in 1885, it is the second-oldest technical university in the modern Ukraine territory (after Lviv Polytechnic). The organizer and first rector of the institute was Viktor Kyrpychov, an honored professor specializing in mechanics and resistance in materials. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” continued its work as a Ukrainian institution of higher learning. In April 1994, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine granted Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute university status and it was renamed the Kharkiv State Polytechnic University (KhSPU). In September 2000, the university got the status of National Technical University, by decree of the President of Ukraine and changed its current name (NTU “KhPI”). In February 2010, NTU “KhPI” was granted the status of Autonomous Research National University by decree of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
The International Education Department provides:
- Search (including abroad) for companies that legally recruit and select foreign citizens to study in Ukraine and conclude contracts with them.
- Fabrication, execution, and issuance of invitations for studying in Ukraine and visa support for foreign students.
- Admission of foreign citizens for all types of education at the university, fabrication, and issuance of orders, and conclusion of contracts.
- Admission of students for undergraduate study by chosen majors.
- Registration of foreign students in the Kharkiv regional office of the
- Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
- After completion of education, the department issues diplomas of correspondent level (bachelor, specialist, master) and provides their legalization in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The International Education Department includes:
- Department of Natural Sciences;
- Department of Humanitarian Sciences;
- Department of Social and Economic Sciences.
The departments of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” provide pre-university training (Language courses) for foreign students in Engineering Technical, Economics, Medical-Biological, and Humanitarian fields towards obtaining legal certificates. Foreign students, who completed the pre-university training courses, can enter our university as well as any other university in Ukraine. The guarantee of high-quality training for foreign students is the qualification of teachers, their long-time experience of teaching, and specially developed methodologies of training.
