    Dnipro University of Technology is one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in Ukraine, founded in 1899.

    History

    Dnipro University of Technology was founded in 1899 as the Yekaterinoslav Higher Mining College. In 1911, it became the Yekaterinoslav Mining Institute, and in 1926, it was renamed the Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute. Based on this institution, the State Mining Academy of Ukraine was established in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 646 dated August 13, 1993, titled “On the Improvement of the Network of Higher Educational Institutions.”

    By Presidential Decree No. 522/97 dated June 11, 1997, “On Granting the Status of National to the State Mining Academy of Ukraine,” the academy was granted national status and renamed the National Mining Academy of Ukraine.

    According to the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 86-r dated February 28, 2002, “On the Reorganization of the National Mining Academy,” the academy was reorganized into the National Mining University.

    By the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1636 dated December 20, 2017, the State Higher Educational Institution “National Mining University,” which was state-owned and under the management of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, was renamed Dnipro University of Technology (National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic”). The university is the legal successor to all property, labor, and non-property rights and obligations of the former “National Mining University.”

    The Dnipro University of Technology has long-standing and close scientific and educational ties with many countries around the world. Its cooperation with a number of leading technical universities in Europe dates back more than a century. The expansion of international relations significantly accelerated after Ukraine gained independence. 

    University Today

    Today, Dnipro University of Technology offers education for international students in both English and Ukrainian, implements international scientific and educational projects, maintains partnerships with leading universities around the world, promotes academic and professional mobility, provides modern facilities and comfortable learning conditions.

    The Dnipro University of Technology provides educational activity at the 53 departments (27 of which are major-based) united into 9 faculties of full-time education. There is an Institute of Extramural Learning and several post-graduate and doctoral courses. The university has an Interbranch Institute of Continuing Learning, a Scientific and Research Unit, the Ukrainian-American Linguistic Center, a Linguistic Center, a Ukrainian German Cultural Center, a Ukrainian-Spanish-Latin-American Center, a Center for Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation, and Energy Saving and Energy Management Center. The polytechnic also has links with the Prydniprovsk Science-and-Technology Center of Information Protection, Ukrainian-American Lyceum, Marganets College, Pavlograd Technical School, and Motor Transport Technical School.

    Dnipro University of Technology collaborates with numerous universities in Germany, France, Poland, the United Kingdom, the USA, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, and many others.

    The University’s Educational and Sports Complex provides students with opportunities for comprehensive and well-balanced physical development. It features modern, specialized facilities, including: gymnastics halls, athletics and strength training halls, an indoor track and field arena, halls and outdoor courts for team sports.

    For those interested in fitness, there are fully equipped gyms offering bodybuilding and shaping programs for all skill levels. Additionally, the university operates a summer sports and wellness center “Hirnyk”, which plays an important role in promoting student health and well-being. This recreational complex is located in a picturesque natural setting on the banks of the Samara River, providing an ideal environment for rest, physical activity, and outdoor recreation.

    Accommodation

    International students admitted to Dnipro University of Technology are provided with the opportunity to live in a residence hall that offers all the necessary conditions for comfortable living, independent study, academic preparation, and leisure.
