    University History

    Chernihiv Polytechnic National University is a higher educational institution in Chernihiv Ukraine of IV level of accreditation, founded in 1960. The activities of CPNU began in 1960 as the general technical faculty of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute following the order of the Ministry of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. On September 1, 1965, according to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the USSR, the Chernihiv branch of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was organized, consisting of three faculties: Mechanical, Technological, and General Technical. In 1994, the Faculty of Engineering and Economics was established. In 1994, the university was licensed and accredited, as a result of which it received the IV level of accreditation. In 2013, the university received the title of national and has since been called Chernihiv National University of Technology. December 10, 2019, the university was renamed into the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic”. 

    The National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic” is a multi-disciplinary educational and scientific center with a continuous education system that includes a pre-university training system, 7 educational and scientific institutes, 2 faculties, 33 departments, a Center for Retraining and Distance Learning, and postgraduate and doctoral programs. The university has a scientific library, a business innovation center, an editorial and publishing department, and a network of administrative and economic units. The university includes the Professional College of Economics and Technology and the Professional College of Transport and Computer Technologies as separate structural units.

    The material and technical base of the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic” consists of 16 educational and laboratory buildings, 6 dormitories, educational and production facilities, sports and wellness, cultural and educational, and entertainment complexes. The annual student body of the university exceeds 10,000 individuals. The permanent scientific and pedagogical staff consists of 260 employees, including laureates of state awards, honored workers in science and technology, honored economists, honored workers in education, social services, and agriculture of Ukraine, and academicians of sectoral academies of sciences.
