    Cherkasy State Technological University is a scientific and educational center that operates in accordance with modern European standards, providing high-quality education and implementing advanced technologies for training specialists who successfully compete both in Ukraine and internationally.

    History

    History of the Cherkasy State Technological University started in 1960 with engineering departments in the Cherkasy of the Kyiv Technological Institute of Food Industry (Order of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Ukrainian SSR at number 84 on March 11, 1960). During the years of its establishment, Cherkasy State Technological University through powerful experience in educational, scientific, and educational work has become a leading research and teaching center for the training of highly qualified personnel in the near region. 

    On November 10, 1977, by order No. 370 of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, the institution was reorganized into the Cherkasy Branch of the Kyiv Engineering and Construction Institute. In addition to the general technical department, a Faculty of Construction was established, and the specialty “Industrial and Civil Engineering” with evening classes was introduced.

    On July 26, 1991, at the request of regional authorities, the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to establish the Cherkasy Engineering and Technological Institute (CETI) as an independent state-owned higher education institution based on the Cherkasy Branch of KPI.

    In October 2000, the institute underwent accreditation. According to the decision of the Intersectoral Accreditation Commission dated December 15, 2000, and the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated December 25, 2000, the Cherkasy Engineering and Technological Institute was accredited at the highest, Level IV, accreditation level. Finally, on September 26, 2001, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued a decree on the establishment of the Cherkasy State Technological University.

    University Today

    The development strategy of the Cherkasy State Technological University is aimed at strengthening its position in the education system on a regional, national, and European scale. Among the strategic goals of the university in educational policy are the preparation of highly qualified, competitive specialists, integration into the European education space, and further consolidation of positions at the Ukrainian and international levels. Training is provided for higher education seekers in over 100 educational programs, and over 40 specialties at the educational levels of Bachelor, Master, and educational-scientific level of Doctor of Philosophy. The total student body of the Cherkasy State Technological University comprises approximately 3,000 higher education seekers.

    The structure of the University includes:

    • 7 faculties, which comprise various departments and laboratories;
    • a separate structural unit: Smila Industrial and Economic Vocational College of Cherkasy State Technological University;
    • a research institute, a library, and a preparatory department;

    Centers and departments, including:

    • the Educational and Scientific Center for Work with International Students,
    • the Postgraduate Studies Department,
    • the Center for Projects and Programs,
    • the Center for Student Development and Cultural Programs,
    • the Editorial and Publishing Department, and others;
    • Educational, research, design and engineering, experimental and implementation, technological, information, certification, production, and other units, including testing grounds;
    • Training and production workshops, industrial and commercial units, and a driving school;
    • Administrative and management departments, facilities services, and a cafeteria.

    Researchers at Cherkasy State Technological University actively participate in the implementation of high-tech initiatives and projects at both national and international levels. They are involved in national and international conferences, seminars, and training sessions.

    Living in an open and globalized world directs the efforts of the university’s academic staff and student community toward strengthening international partnerships. Cherkasy State Technological University signs cooperation agreements with educational institutions from other countries, aiming to enhance educational and scientific collaboration. In recent years, the university’s international activity has shown significant growth, particularly in the development of educational and scientific-technical cooperation with partner institutions abroad. This includes organizing international conferences on current issues, expanding joint projects and programs, and offering dual-degree opportunities.

    There has been an increase in the participation of young scientists in joint research, as well as in international internships and training programs for both students and faculty. The university’s international cooperation encompasses both educational and research dimensions. Cherkasy State Technological University maintains partnerships with institutions in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Bulgaria, Moldova, Greece, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Armenia, China, Georgia, and others.

    Accommodation

    Cherkasy State Technological University provides comfortable and well-equipped dormitories for its students. The university operates five hostels that are designed to meet all the essential needs for both living and studying. Each hostel offers furnished rooms, access to kitchens, laundry facilities, and common areas for rest and social activities. To support academic success, the dormitories also include study rooms with internet access, creating a convenient environment for learning outside the classroom. Security and maintenance services are in place to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for all residents.
