Recently, the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University hosted two workshops for dental faculty students. The sessions covered:

    • The use of an intraoral scanner
    • Placement of dental implants on phantom jaw models

During the first workshop, participants learned how to perform patient scanning and diagnostic scanning by practicing on each other. This hands-on experience helped students develop practical skills in creating digital impressions using an intraoral scanner.

The second part of the workshop was dedicated to dental implant placement on phantom jaw models. Students learned how to take impressions from implants using three different techniques:

    • Closed-tray technique
    • Open-tray technique
    • Digital impression with an intraoral scanner

“These modern technologies are widely used in global dental practice, and our department is actively integrating them into the educational process. This allows both faculty and students to gain the necessary knowledge and skills, ensuring they can apply these methods in their future professional careers,” said Professor Zinovii Ozhohan, Head of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry.

These workshops not only enhance professional skills but also improve students’ training for modern dental practice, where such technologies are becoming the standard. The teachers of the department continue to actively integrate the latest advancements into the curriculum, ensuring students with essential competencies for their careers.
