Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture is a state higher educational institution of the IV level of accreditation, subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, located in Kharkiv in 3 educational buildings. It has 2 dormitories for 1000 students, a cycling and skiing base, the “Pioneer” stadium, and more. The history of the academy begins with the establishment of the State Institute of Physical Culture of Ukraine (SIPCU) in 1930. In 1944, it was transferred to Kyiv, and today it is the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine. The educational institution was revived in 1979 as a branch (Kharkiv Sports Faculty) of the Kyiv Institute of Physical Culture. In 1989, the faculty obtained the status of an independent Kharkiv State Institute of Physical Culture, and since September 2001, it has been the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture.
Structure
The total number of teaching staff at the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture is 175 people, of whom 113 professionals have academic degrees and/or titles. Specifically, 16 individuals hold a doctoral degree, 15 individuals hold the title of professor, 93 individuals hold a candidate of sciences degree (Ph.D.), and 71 individuals hold the title of associate professor.
