    Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (IFNMU) is a modern institution of higher medical education with rich traditions located in Ivano-Frankivsk – one of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine, an important scientific and cultural center. It is one of the oldest and leading medical universities in Ukraine. It was founded in 1945 during the former USSR and has produced well-prepared graduates ever since. A high qualification level allows Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University graduates to work successfully in many countries and achieve great success in science and practical public health services. Among former IFNMU students are numerous scientists, heads of public health service, and honored doctors.

    History of the University

    Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (then Stanislav State Medical Institute) was founded on October 6, 194. At that time, the university had 395 students and 47 teachers, among whom there were only a few doctors and candidates of sciences, 14 theoretical and 2 clinical departments were functioning. 10 years later in high school were 12 professors, and doctors, and the number of students exceeded 1,000. In 1962, with the renaming of the city was renamed as Institute of Ivano-Frankivsk State Medical Institute. In 1992 the university gained the status of the Medical Academy. On November 27, 2008, it became the National University.

    Since its foundation in 1945, the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University has trained more than 16,000 doctors, 5,000 of whom work in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. As of 2010, the University is in 39th place among the top 200 universities in Ukraine. Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University provides high-quality education in English to international students looking for quality education at an affordable course fee. There are 13 faculties and a preparatory department.     • Prosthodontics (MDS / Clinical Residency) – 2 year course;
