Lviv Polytechnic National University is the oldest Technical University in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. During its existence, it has demonstrated itself as an intellectual center, center of national culture, freedom of thought, and expression. Today about 30,000 local and international students have an opportunity to get high-quality higher education at the Lviv Polytechnic National University. University provides educational courses in more than 100 degrees have been training at the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. It graduates more than 185 doctors of sciences and professors, about 1,000 candidates of sciences, and associate professors. It consists of 16 educational institutions, 82 departments, a publishing house, and a library.
Lviv Polytechnic National University introduced the multistage system of specialist training, which allows every student to receive three educational and qualification levels: Bachelor’s degree (4 years), Specialist, and Master’s degree (5-5,5 years). Lviv Polytechnic National University implements a wide amount of training programs in different specialties, taking into account the experience of the best technical and technological universities in Europe. The level of knowledge is measured by a modular control system that is determined by the rating of each student. Lviv Polytechnic National University implements new concepts of humanitarian and basic training. After obtaining the specialist degree, graduates of the Lviv Polytechnic National University can continue their studies at the postgraduate level, defend the Master’s thesis, and get the Master’s degree.
Military Institute
Military Institute of Lviv Polytechnic National University prepares staff officers and reserve officers in 7 areas of training (Geodesy, Cartography, and Land Management; Engineering Mechanics, International Relations, Arts Culture, Physical Education, and Sport), using the pedagogical potential of the leading educational institutions of the city, military officers and logistics departments of the Lviv Polytechnic. The integration of Civil and Military educational courses into the educational process allows the university to prepare for military unique specialties (Geodesy; Photogrammetry; Journalism; Automobiles and Automobile Economy; International Information; Music Art; Radio, Communication Broadcast, and TV Equipment; Physical Education).
